This is the walkthrough for the Sub Rosa game by Joey Jones and Melvin Rangasamy. Walkthroughs spoil the sense of achievement wrought from the completion of tricky puzzles. Most of the puzzles can be solved by paying attention and looking at one's surroundings. Why not have a closer look within the game first? If you're stuck, often the answer will be hidden in a dusty tome or achievable with the things on hand. Some puzzles are solvable in multiple ways. You have a great sense of smell: if looking at something doesn't prove fruitful, try smelling it. GETTING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION Attune the cliff, tear off the sheet, get out of the mud, clean the suit then enter the intersection. GETTING YOUR THINGS FROM THE BLUE ROSE GARDEN Investigate the flowers, acquire the winkerchief, whack the dome (twice) then liberate the somnuliser. GETTING PAST THE GUARD Both the blue door and the sliding door need to be open before throwing the somnuliser in order to clear an exit path. Hurl the somnuliser (when the player is in the kitchen), proceed east, close the blue door, proceed east then wait (x5). The rest of the walkthrough will be puzzle orientated. There are 7 secrets hidden within The Destine Mansion. GETTING THROUGH THE BRICK WALL Press AHLT and the brick wall should open. GETTING TO THE CONFESSOR'S DAGGER You need to lever him. You do this with the curtain pole in the library. GETTING THE CLOAK It's behind the open watercloset door, close it to reveal the cloak. DISCOVERING WHO THE SKULL IN THE DUNGEON BELONGS TO You need to refresh the skull so it's back to it's living form, but the refresher is low powered so you need more lead. There's a sack of gold in the dungeon, the picture in the hall and books in the library show the cloak and dagger being used to turn gold into lead. You can touch the gold with the dagger while wearing the cloak and then put the sack of lead into the refresher and turn the dial to uncontained to overpower it. Put skull into the uncontained, ultraleaded refresher and activate it, getting a human head, then examine the head. Find out who head is by looking at the silver painting in the entry tower and looking up Confidante Destine in the Personas of Note book. DISCOVERING THE TATTOO Just examine the tattoo after levering the Confessor. DISCOVERING THE BLUE DYE You need to get the rug and pull it back after putting it on the rockery to reveal the pot beneath the rose. Scan the pot with the brass wand from the bedroom then read the subsea book in the library. DISCOVERING THE MISSING LLAMA Either throw the curtains over the empty stall. Or feed the round red berry to the quailer. DISCOVERING CONFESSOR EATS PORK Scan the mince in the kitchen with the brass wand twice. DISCOVERING BOTTLE SECRET Read the Advanced Fluid Dynamics book in the library. scan the bottle with the brass wand to find out what's in it. DISCOVERING SECRET IN LETTER Rub vax on ashes in library fireplace. Empty ashes in refresher. Activate the refresher to get the letter and examine it. Look up "Beningnell" in the Personas of Note and read the Strictures of Forgetting book. GETTING OUT OF THE MANSION Make sure you've found all seven secrets first. Head through the window to the greenhouse roof and enter the intersection. And that's all folks. Now, wasn't that a wholly soulless experience that removed all achievement and wonder from the game?
